Live music has been an addiction of mine for years. I have combined my loves of photography and live music, and have been shooting concerts since high school. Concert photography is not esteemed highly in the world of fine art photography, but I have found that it can be quite challenging to do well. The lighting can be very low and erratic, and the performers will not often hold still to accomodate low shutter speeds. In packed shows it is not always easy to maneuver to vantage points. And sometimes its just down right impossible to resist the urge to dance. But in the end, when a concert shot is made well it will capture an energy of the show that can be revisited for the rest of time.
